Black Sunshine: Black sunshine

I don’t know what the fuck this is, but it sure as fuck reminds me of bad old-school stuff. The singer sounds like what you might call a derivative version of Sammy Hagar, the riffs are generic distorted hard rock. Bon Jovi fans might like this a bit, and if they don’t maybe 3 Doors Down fans can take over. This is derivative, generic rock that I have absolutely fucken zero patience for. And it’s never good when I run out of patience.
I don’t give a shit how dirty or raw or old-school this sounds. The fact remains that the vocals (and most of the music) remind me of bad nu-metal and I hate being reminded of bad nu-metal. He has an extremely annoying drawl and I wish he would shut the fuck up. Oh wait, now it reminds me of the worst elements of Stone Sour and Staind. This shit really needs to die fast. The only semi-cool moments are when they imitate Alice in Chains, but since the whole post-grunge movement around the turn of the century already did that, there is no need for this redundant crap.
If I want something like this, I’ll put Stone Sour on and satisfy my alterna-rock semi-gruff interior pussy needs. Until then, know that you don’t need this travesty of a record to make you enjoy a road trip through Texas, as an antidote for a breakup, or actually, for anything in general except for very inoffensive background music at the worst party being held this year.
Fuck this bullshit, I’m off to listen to something good. For fuck’s sake, this sounds like Nickelback…
Recommendation: Death. “Hell yeah”? Hell no.
